Duke Energy releases power restoration estimates
Duke Energy just released estimates on power restoration to homes in Jackson County. These figures include restoration to the very last* customer affected by the time listed:
Cashiers in S. Jackson Cty 11 p.m. Thursday, June 16
Rest of Jackson County 11 p.m. Sunday, June 19
*Last customers are typically in more remote locations, in areas with extensive damage, may have home repairs requiring an electrician, may have assumed a neighbor’s outage call would cover their house, and/or other factors. We have been restoring service since last night in all counties, but know that getting everyone back on will take days. We hope to beat our own estimates.
Duke said they’ve brought over 400 additional crews and contractors from Hickory, Greensboro, and Charlotte areas to restore power.
