Commissioners to discuss appeal in Duke case
County officials are still weighing their options in light of Superior Court Judge Laura Bridges’ recent decision ordering the county to issue local development permits to Duke Energy.
As of 2 p.m. today (Friday), county officials had not appealed the order. When reached by phone, Commissioner Tom Massie said discussion of the appeal will take place during their regular meeting Monday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Justice Center.
The judge March 23 ordered county officials to “immediately process and issue” permits the power company needs to begin dredging sediment behind the dam.
Judge Bridge’s order is now online.
