House Appropriations Committee hearing to be broadcast at SCC
Local residents can participate in an N.C. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee public hearing on Monday, May 24.
The hearing, which is scheduled to take public input on the state budget, will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at N.C. State University’s McKimmon Center. Southwestern Community College is one of three community colleges across the state that will host interactive broadcasts of the hearing, and it will also be streamed live on the Internet.
Committee members would like to invite members of the public to offer suggestions and comments about the budget. Each speaker will have up to two minutes to share information. E-mail comments concerning the budget may be sent to town.hall@ncleg.net until midnight of May 25.Written comments postmarked by May 25 may be sent to House Appropriations Committee, Suite 401, Legislative Office Building, 300 N.
