Baseball, softball seasons end

Smoky Mountain’s baseball and softball teams saw their seasons end Tuesday with losses in the state 2-A playoffs.
The Mustang baseball team dropped a 9-3 decision at Polk County to end the season 15-7. SM was in the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2000.
The softball team lost 11-1 at Starmount in a first round game called in the bottom of the fifth due to the 10-run rule. The Lady Mustangs ended the year 11-10.
