Leatherwood called out of order, meeting recessed, receives Sheriff deputy escort

By Nick Breedlove

Marie Leatherwood responds to County Commissioners April 19, 2010 in the video that appears below, outside of the public comment portion of the meeting regarding audits of the Economic Development Commission and Jackson Development Corp. Subsequently, she was called out of order, the meeting was recessed and Sheriff deputies escorted her back into the board room some time later. She is responding to a letter dated April 15, 2010 to the Board of Commissioners from the Local Government Commission that says the LGC will not require Jackson County to procure audits of the EDC due to missing records. It goes on to say that if those records become available or new information is discovered, they reserve the right to pursue completion of audits.
