Book fair under way until 3 p.m.; 55 authors on hand
Area residents can help the new Jackson County library and get their Christmas shopping out of the way today at the Great Smoky Mountains book fair. Located at the Sylva First United Methodist Church, the book fair continues until 3 p.m. More than 50 authors are on hand to sign and discuss their books, and varied programs are scheduled throughout the day. Children’s storytelling is offered as well, with a new storyteller every half hour.
Twenty percent of the proceeds from all books sold will be donated to the new library, and because of a matching grant from the State Employees Credit Union Foundation, all donations from the book fair will be doubled.
