Sylva leaders to meet Thursday

By Nick Breedlove

The Sylva town board will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, July 2).

Old business up for consideration includes a request from Sylva First Baptist Church to move a Landis Street retaining wall and a proposed amendment to the town’s sign ordinance concerning special event sandwich board signs in the downtown business district.

Board members will also see a storm water presentation by Mickey Henson of Appalachian Environmental Services and hold a Bridge Park renaming discussion before moving into closed session to discuss a pending lawsuit against the town.
