Cleaveland wins 200th career game

Smoky Mountain Coach Jimmy Cleaveland won his 200th career game Wednesday as the Mustang men’s basketball team defeated Erwin 57-47 in the West Henderson Holiday Invitational. Medical practice employee charged with embezzlement

A former office administrator for Sylva Orthopedics has been charged with embezzling more than $100,000, which is a Class C felony. A warrant was issued Wednesday, Dec. 30, charging Tracey Ann Curtis, 43, of Beechwood Drive, Sylva, with embezzling $230,482.48 from July 2007 through September 2009. Mustangs top Franklin

Smoky Mountain’s men’s basketball team finished the pre-Christmas portion of its season at home Monday with a 66-47 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory over Franklin. Commissioners to address airport, CTP

WCU commencement to go on even in inclement weather
